Both 4-speed automatic transmission and 5-speed manual transmission are optimised for the best balance of performance and fuel efficiency. A straight type shift pattern is adopted for the automatic transmission for simple and easy operation while the manual transmission features light, smooth and precise gear shifting with the convergent locating system.

The 360-degree view provides added safety and convenience. It uses four cameras (front, rear and both sides) to offer a variety of views, including 3D view for safe starts and top view for safer parking.

If Electronic Stability Programme (ESP®) detects wheel slippage when the driver turns the steering wheel sharply and/or the road is slippery, for example, it automatically adjusts the engine torque and brakes to suppress the wheel slippage and help the driver stay in directional control. *ESP® is a registered trademark of Daimler AG.
Ultrasonic sensors in the bumpers detect obstacles and issues audio-visual warning to the driver.
The structure of the Baleno’s bonnet, front windscreen wiper area, front bumper and other parts absorb impacts, with the aim of mitigating head and leg injuries in the event of a collision with a pedestrian.
