Both 4-speed automatic transmission and 5-speed manual transmission are optimized for the best balance of performance and fuel efficiency. A straight type shift pattern is adopted for the automatic transmission for simple and easy operation while the manual transmission features light, smooth, and precise gear shifting with the convergent locating system.

Light and highly rigid, it lowers fuel consumption and vastly improves the fundamental vehicle performance in terms of running, turning, and stopping. If the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP®) detects wheel slippage when the driver turns the steering wheel sharply and/or the road is slippery, for example, it automatically adjusts the engine torque and brakes to suppress the wheel slippage and help the driver stay in directional control.
